PAB MP1 Professional safety helmets have been voted the top choice at East of England Ambulance Service, receiving a 92% approval rating in a survey of the Trust’s operational staff.
PAB Helmets are increasingly recognised as the preferred protective headgear across NHS Ambulance Trusts, private ambulance services, and among paramedics, emergency doctors, and nurses. Complying fully with EN 16473 – Helmets for Technical Rescue and integrating essential EN 14458 eye and face protection standards, the PAB MP1 Professional Helmet ensures top-tier safety and comfort for extended wear.
The MP1 Ambulance helmet has been engineered to meet the exacting standards of NHS Ambulance trusts and is fully certified according to EN 16473 - the Safety Standard for Technical Rescue Helmets. Thanks to its compact design and resistance to extreme temperatures (as low as -20°C), mechanical impacts, and harsh conditions, the MP1 offers unparalleled eye protection to comply with EN 14458 plus superior comfort and safety for the wearer and giving ambulance crews and paramedics have access to the same level of safety and protection as their fire and police colleagues.
The MP1 Professional helmet is designed with a suite of features to ensure optimal functionality and user safety. The helmet's high-quality, fire-retardant, and UV-resistant coating is available in a spectrum of colours. Its adaptability can be further enhanced with options such as ATEX-certified powerful LED torches, photoluminescent colours, and various neck protection choices. The integrated communication system, double-lens goggles with anti-scratch and anti-fog treatment, and an extensive range of customisable face and chin protection options ensure that each helmet can be perfectly adapted to meet the specific needs of its users, providing a high level of protection and exceptional comfort.
Jason Ayres, Clinical Procurement Specialist at East of England Ambulance Service, surveyed two key ambulance stations to gauge preference for various helmets. “A staff survey of the top three options was conducted at Luton and Kempston ambulance stations to determine which helmet the Operational Staff preferred. The survey results were overwhelming: 23/25 in favour of the PAB MP1 helmet from Vimpex. We asked them about the ease of donning and doffing the helmet, which was the most comfortable, which they were most confident wearing, and the size and appearance of the helmet. They chose the PAB MP1.”
