PDR25 Pre-Hospital Trauma Trainer – Tactical Combat Casualty Care

Prepare your teams for the casualties they are most likely to face with the PDR25 Pre-Hospital Trauma Trainer, a rugged, modular TCCC training manikin built for military, tactical and pre-hospital trauma care.

Commissioned by an active-duty protection unit and developed against validated operational requirements, PDR25 combines interchangeable trauma limbs, a fully interventional airway and a mobile, field-ready haemorrhage management system – supporting training from tourniquet application and needle decompression through to surgical airway and intraosseous access.

Key Product Features:

  • Modular trauma presentations: Interchangeable limb modules present traumatic and partial amputations, a compound ankle fracture, an entry/exit gunshot wound, foreign body impalement and a junctional packing wound, plus head trauma with an ear bleed and a maxillofacial blast wearable. A single action connects the limb joint and fluid line, so injuries can be exchanged mid-scenario
  • Mobile haemorrhage management system: 8 independent bleed sites, plus urine output and vomit expulsion, controlled from a Bleed Control Module in a rugged Peli 1400 case. Ten labelled rotary valves map directly to anatomical sites, two independent circuits run from a 4-litre manual pump and a 2-litre backpack-mounted pump, and a single magnetic umbilical opens and closes every line at once
  • Fully interventional airway: A grade 1/2 airway that responds to head positioning, with visible vocal cords and chest rise and fall. Accepts i-gel, LMA, ETT and BVM, connects to standard mechanical ventilators, and includes a cricothyroidotomy site with palpable thyroid and cricoid cartilage and a replaceable silicone neck sleeve
  • Chest trauma interventions: An open pneumothorax wound that bleeds until a chest seal is correctly applied, plus bilateral needle decompression sites in the 4th and 5th intercostal regions supporting 14G angiocath NDC, 28Fr chest tube insertion, finger thoracostomy and suturing. The chest also delivers realistic compressions with 55 kg resistance and 55 mm depth
  • Field-replaceable procedure sites: Bilateral humeral and tibial IO sites with palpable landmarks (40–50 uses per cartridge), an IV wearable with palpable veins and instructor-controlled flashback, and male urinary catheterisation with an S-path urethra and sphincter resistance. Cartridges eject by hand without tools, keeping the manikin in scenario

Who is it for?

  • Military medics and defence medical training teams (TCCC, BATLS, PCC)
  • Police, protection and tactical units training TECC
  • Paramedic, ambulance and PHTLS educators
  • Humanitarian and NGO medical teams preparing for austere environments
  • Pre-hospital trauma training providers, colleges and universities

PDR25 Pre-Hospital Trauma Trainer FAQ's

What injuries can the PDR25 present?

PDR25 presents traumatic and partial amputations, a compound fracture, an entry/exit gunshot wound, foreign body impalement, a junctional wound, an open pneumothorax, an ear bleed and a maxillofacial blast injury. Interchangeable limb modules let instructors change the casualty picture between, or even during, scenarios.

How are the bleeds controlled?

All bleeding is managed manually from the Bleed Control Module, housed in a Peli 1400 case. Ten labelled rotary valves control 8 independent haemorrhage sites plus urine and vomit outputs, and any combination can run at once. Correct interventions – tourniquets, wound packing or chest seals – stop the bleed at the site.

Which airway adjuncts and surgical airway procedures does it support?

PDR25 accepts i-gel and LMA sizes 4 and 5, ETT sizes 7 to 9, an ISO oral airway, an adult BVM and a Miller 4 laryngoscope, and connects to a standard mechanical ventilator. The cricothyroidotomy site supports surgical incision, tube insertion and ventilation with visible chest rise.

Are the procedure sites replaceable?

Yes. NDC, chest tube and IO sites use a tool-free cartridge system that ejects from a marked release point and reseats in seconds. IO cartridges are rated for 40–50 uses, and replacement cartridges, consumables and optional wearables are available separately.

How is PDR25 transported, and what support is included?

PDR25 ships and stores disassembled in soft carry bags, with a hard case option available. Every purchase includes an online set-up and familiarisation session and a 12-month warranty on the armature and structural components, extendable to 36 months.
