SAM IO® Intraosseous Access System

Manual, Durable, and Battery-Free Emergency Vascular Access

Available NHS Supply Chain - FNN85010

The SAM IO® Intraosseous Access System provides clinicians with a dependable, battery-free solution for rapid vascular access in time-critical situations. Its manual trigger-driven mechanism offers enhanced tactile feedback during insertion, allowing controlled placement while eliminating the possibility of battery failure and reducing long-term operating costs associated with powered IO systems.

Constructed from durable high-strength polycarbonate and validated to MIL-STD 810G standards for rugged field use, the reusable driver is designed to perform reliably in challenging pre-hospital, military and emergency care environments. Unlike single-use or battery-powered alternatives, the SAM IO® Driver is designed for repeated use and supported by a validated cleaning and low-level disinfection process. The manufacturer's reprocessing protocol has demonstrated effective removal of clinically relevant soil and validated ≥6-log microbial reduction using an EPA-registered germicidal wipe when cleaned and disinfected according to the Instructions for Use, supporting safe routine reuse between patients.

The intuitive design, colour-coded needle compatibility and optional SAM IO® Adaptor for use with compatible third-party IO needles, including the EZ-IO® Needle Set, make the SAM IO® System a flexible choice for organisations looking to maximise existing equipment while transitioning to a cost-effective manual IO platform. With compatible 15mm, 25mm and 45mm needle options, optional stabilisation accessories and dedicated training kits available, the SAM IO® System offers a complete, scalable solution for emergency intraosseous access.
