First Response Emergency Care (FREC) is a set of courses designed to provide medical training to individuals who are likely to be the first to arrive at an emergency scene. The courses are divided into three levels: FREC 3, FREC 4, and FREC 5. Each level builds on the previous one and provides more advanced training in emergency care.
DS Medical FREC kits have been designed to meet the training outcomes of the associated course in ensuring that the appropriate equipment provided is at the required level.
FREC 3 is the first level of the course and is designed for individuals who are likely to be the first to arrive at an emergency scene. The course covers a range of topics, including airway management, catastrophic bleeding, fractures, and much more.
The FREC 3 kit contains essential trauma equipment for those who have completed the course, including a 4" trauma bandage, a 6" trauma bandage, a pulse oximeter, a blast bandage, a chest seal, a CAT - Combat Application Tourniquet (Orange), haemostatic gauze/dressings, a bag & mask - single use (adult), Guedel Airways (Pack of 6), Nasopharyngeal Airway 6.0mm, Nasopharyngeal Airway 7.0mm, Nasopharyngeal Airway 8.0mm, lubricating jelly 5g sachet, a Sam Sling Medium 81-127cm, a body fluid spill kit, a disposable suction device, Toughcut Economy Shears, a disposable penlight (pupil gauge) single, microporous tape 2.5cm x 10mtr, an Ambu Perfit Ace Collar Adult 16 - Adjustable, and a Sam Splint Orange/Blue Flatpack.
FREC 4 is the second level of the course and is designed for individuals who are likely to be the first to arrive at an emergency scene and have completed the FREC 3 course. The course covers a range of topics, including advanced airway management, advanced life support, and much more.
