DS Medical are pleased to have helped the BBC in sourcing life-saving equipment for their new CBBC podcast, Operation Ouch! The Podcast of Everything.

Presented by Dr Chris and Dr Xand van Tulleken, the show explores the ins and outs of the human body in a variety of exciting, eye-opening experiments.

An upcoming episode all about the inner workings of the gut (the gastrointestinal tract) uses a powerful stethoscope loaned by DS Medical, to listen to what is happening inside the body to help provide a medical diagnosis.

DS Medical loaned Dr Chris and Dr Xand the ThinkLabs One Digital Stethoscope which is the smallest, most powerful stethoscope in the world. Fitting in the palm of your hand, it amplifies over 100x and can be used with headphones which are particularly useful in the busy, noisy environments of emergency rooms. It crucially also works on the radio!

Richard Bourke, Director at DS Medical, comments, “we are delighted in being able to support CBBC in their education of young people in the medical field. As leaders in the supply of high-quality equipment for healthcare professionals, we were more than happy to lend the team at Operation Ouch! one of the best stethoscopes in the world to help show the next generation the inner workings of the human body.”

Operation Ouch! The Podcast Of Everything, (Episode 5: Guts), featuring the ThinkLabs stethoscope will be published on August 2nd and will be available on BBC Sounds.
